2020 saw the demand in food skyrocket, over double the usual amount. The pandemic has pushed thousands of people into financial hardship that usually would not need support.

This newly vulnerable group of people, then added to the already vulnerable, which as a whole created a food poverty crisis across the UK. FareShare Midlands have increased warehouse space, called out for more support and have worked extended hours to ensure that good food reaches those who are in need.

In 2020, FareShare Midlands redistributed 6,686 tonnes of food, which is enough to make over 15.9 million meals. A bittersweet achievement indeed, but record breaking nonetheless. Thank you to everybody from FareShare Midlands volunteers, fundraisers, partners, staff, trustees and everybody in between who have supported the organisation during these unprecedented times. With the help of each and every person who has supported in some way, FareShare Midlands were able to deliver food across the Midlands reaching vulnerable men, women and children.
